After a great deal of research and more than my share of doctors that could not have cared less about curing my problems, I decided to go with a food intolerance test called Alcats. The alcats test is a test offered by a Florida company known as Cell Science Systems, Ltd. From what I understand, the human body will attack any foreign substance that enters it if it sees this substance as a potential threat, This is what happens when a virus enters out bodies. The Alcat test actually tests the bodies immune system response to certain foods and classifies them into 4 categories: severe intolerance, moderate intolerance, mild intolerance and no reaction.
After receiving the test via fedex, I then went to the blood draw to collect my blood samples, which were then sent back to the lab in Florida for my testing. Seven days later I received the test results in the mail. What I found was I was allergic to a great deal of the foods I was eating almost everyday and actually considered "SAFE" foods. Foods that I was nearly certain would not make be feel sick were actually the foods that were making me feel sick. I was amazed.
The test was broken down into the following results:
Severe Intolerance Foods:

Moderate Intolerance Foods:
Baker's yeast, bay leaf, beef, buckwheat, cauliflower, cherry, chick pea, cinnamon, cow;s milk, dill, duck, flax seed, goat's milk, haddock, licorice, peanut, sage, sheep's milk, soybean, squid, string bean, sweet potato and tomato.
Mild Intolerance Foods:
Almond, anchovy, artichoke, asparagus, avocado, basil, bass, beet, beet sugar, blackberry, bok choy, broccoli, cabbage, caraway, celery, chamomile, clove, cocoa, corn, cranberry, crayfish, date, egg white, endive, grape, green pea, halibut, herring, lamb, liver, malt, orange, oyster, parsley, pheasant, pork, quail, rice, rye, safflower, sole, tapioca, tuna, veal, white potato and whitefish.
Acceptable Foods:

Not quite as bad as it seems as there is still quite a bit of food on the list that I actually can eat without a problem. Only time will tell. |
